6/6 Reds offday/update

Well Last night didn’t go so well for the Cincinnati Reds, Here are some stats from last night’s Reds/Rockies game at Great American Ball Park.

Rockies Notes

Image

The Rockies Left Fielder Carlos Gonzalez and SS Troy Tulowitizki were the stars of the game last night. Gonzalez not one, not two, but three HomeRuns during the Rockies 12-4 victory over the Reds. Gonzalez slugged a solo shot in the 1st inninng off, of Reds starter Padero Villarreal ( who was making an start for RHP Johnny Cueto, who went on the 15 Day DL.) Gonzalen then slugged a Two Run shot in the 4th that went an estimated 476 FT. Gonzalez’s last HomeRun of the night came in 8th. He ended the night with six Run’s batted in and Three hits.

Image

The Rockies Other star of the game was SS Troy Tulowitzki went 5-5 with 2 Home Runs of his own and a 3 RBI night. In all the Rockies hit six Home Runs and had 20 Hits. Gonzalez and Tulo went a combined ( 8-10, 6 Runs scored, and 9 Run’s Batted In ).

Image

Reds Notes

* Reds Pitcher’s allowed Six Home Runs during the 12-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The six HR were the most they have allowed since 9/9/07 vs the Brewers.

* Reds Pitchers allowed 20 hit’s in last night loss, The first time they have allowed, that to happen since pitchers game up 21 hits on 7/6/09 @ Philadelphia.

* Reds allowed 12 runs in nine innings ( Most this year ). They have allowed 10 Runs in the Previous 5 games combined.

REDS HITTING NOTES

Xavier paul has appeared in 100 games with the Reds ( .293/6/28 ) in 194 At Bat’s.

In Paul’s starts this year (41), The Reds have a 30-11 record.

Image ( The Reds outfielder is making the most of his playing time this year )

Center Fielder Shin Soo Choo last 34 Games .219/.379 ( 28-128 ) 38K, 26BB. Reds are 22-12 during that time frame.

Reds First Base man Joey Votto Last 12 games (8-46) .174/.269 6BB, 14K. Previous 12 game Votto was hitting (24-49) .511/.589 9BB, 6K.

Reds shortstop Zack Cozart is hitting .296 over the last month

Jay Bruce has been on fire since his little twitter rant. Bruce is hitting .266 with Nine HomeRuns and 38 Knocked In. with 18 Doubles on the year.

Brandon Phillips is expected to start on Friday vs the St. Louis Cardinals, ( sat the entire Rockies series ).

Well the Cincinnati Reds have an off day, I’am lost when they have a off day. Their is not much other Baseball today either. So with that said today we are going to take a look at the Cincinnati Reds upcoming schedule.

Reds are a season High 29-18 and 1.5 Games back from the 30-16 St. Louis Cardinals. I still believe come September these two, Baseball clubs will be battling it out for the NL Central title, it’s going to be fun to watch.

REDS SCHEDULE

May 24-26 ( Weekend series ) Vs the Chicago Cubs ( 18-27 )

May 27-28 ( Monday & Tuesday ) Vs the Cleveland Indians ( 26-19 )

May 29-30 ( Wednesday & Thursday ) at the Cleveland Indians

May 31, June 1,2 ( Friday, Saturday, Sunday ) at the Pittsburgh Pirates ( 28-18 )

* The Reds are coming off a 7-2 Road Trip, They are 13-12 overall. Pretty Good since they started the season at a whopping 1-8.

* Reds are 16-6 at home ( Best start at Home since 1994 I believe )
